Buckle up, kids, today we're going offroad. Fasten your seat belts.
Previously - in December, 2016 - we wrote to California's Commission on Judicial Performance, regarding the peculiarities we encountered in Department 7 of Humboldt County Superior Court when it was being administered by The Honorable Christopher Wilson.
In that letter, we described how Judge Wilson's actions had seemed to indicate an awareness, or a suspicion, that he was being listened to ... and a reliance upon strictly non-verbal signals, when communicating with Humboldt County Child Welfare Services employee, Evan Alves.
Why would Christopher Wilson think that he was being listened to and who would he think was listening?
That reminds us of a story ...
In what we now estimate to be spring of 2018 we had a conversation with Keath North, one of the owners and managers of the apartment we were renting, and a man with whom we had established a mutual respect. We will call it the 1st of May, 2018, for purposes of estimating the timeline of events.
This conversation had occurred in the context of a discussion about real estate websites and web site technology, at which point Keath shared with your humble editor the information that he had once been deeply involved with the Humboldt County Grand Jury, even to the point of helping to create a website for the agency.
This led to Keath telling us a most remarkable story about Judge Christopher Wilson.
According to Keath (now deceased), while he had been empanelled as a a member of the Humboldt County Grand Jury, they had undertaken an investigation into allegations that Judge Wilson had been having sex with one of his court personnel, on the premises of the courthouse, after working hours.
Keath was not specific about the location but we infer that it would have been the courtroom. Only the grand jury's participants know, for sure.
Keath did not offer any evidence to support his allegation and we thought that perhaps he was feeding us disinformation. But we did some research afterwards and we did confirm that Keath North was involved with the Humboldt County Grand Jury - in fact, he was the President of the California Grand Jurors' Association.
We think it is probably against the law to share the proceedings or findings of the Grand Jury with the public other than via published findings and perhaps solicited testimony under oath. So in doing this, Keath was, perhaps, also violating the law. But we think Keath was following a higher law. Let us add, Keath was a fine man and we were honored to have known him.
We do not personally know that this is truly derived from a proceeding or finding of the Humboldt County Grand Jury. We only have it on hearsay evidence. That makes it gossip, not confidential information - because it was not given to us confidentially.
Based on information and belief, we think that, if these allegations were true, that Keath North thought that the truth must be told - that to conceal this information from the public was the real crime, we infer.
If Keath North's allegations are true then this would explain why Judge Christopher Wilson acted as if he thought he were being listened to - because, as a result of having already being interrupted in flagrante delecto, as they say in the romance novels, he knew, first-hand, that the courtrooms were wired for sound - and, we note, he was not using this knowledge he had acquired so painfully, to good ends, IE, he had learned nothing from the experience of being caught, other than to be more careful.
If all of this information is true then it casts a remarkably bad light upon Judge Christopher Wilson's capacity for honesty, integrity, his respect for the law and his respect for the traditions of the courtroom, too.
We are not accusing Christopher Wilson of porking his coworker(s). That would be defamatory. And there is no evidence.
We are merely - in the public interest - repeating some uncorroborated hearsay evidence from a very reliable source. Gossip, if you will. Call us a speaker for the dead, if it helps.
When we accuse Judge Christopher Wilson of corrupt behavior, we adhere to the exact same evidentiary standards that Judge Christopher Wilson and his comrades within Humboldt County Child Welfare Services adhered to - hearsay is acceptable, no evidence is required, no witnesses required, no jury required either.
Our evidence that Judge Christopher Wilson is a criminal is actually better than the evidence Humboldt County Child Welfare Services provided to Humboldt County Superior Court when they accused us of being a criminal - because our evidence is not anonymous.
We anticipate Judge Wilson's defense that everything he did was according to written law - which defense rests heavily upon the inaccessibility of juvenile court and grand jury records by the public, to bolster its reasonable tone. But those records are not inaccessible to other judges.
We refer The Honorable Judge to the etymology of the compound word, jurisprudence, composed of juris - 'of right, of law' - and prudence - 'careful or wise' - and we point out that his conduct is lacking in prudence and that even his juris is only half right, because he ruled in error.
We think there is strong evidence that The Honorable Christopher Wilson is fucking us all. Not just his coworkers.
Food for thought.
